We are Rachel & Matt, two storytellers sharing our travel experiences with fellow wanderlusters.
In June 2016 we said goodbye to our London home and flew 10,500 miles to Australia. Two months later, we created Across Land & Sea to update our friends and family on what we were up to. Since then, our website has become increasingly popular within the travel community, experiencing consistent growth and social media engagement.
We describe ourselves as balanced travellers; we have a modest budget that we allocate carefully to ensure we rarely miss out on things that we love. This means that we set aside funds for activities that may be too expensive for the $20-a-day budget traveller, such as a helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef. It also means that our nights in hostels and street food dinners will be interspersed with short stays in luxury hotels or the odd meal at a quality restaurant.
Ultimately, we enjoy inspiring people to make their own journey across land and sea.
So, where do you come in?
What do people say about us?
“We had the great pleasure of hosting Rachel and Matt during November 2016. They were great fun and we had a fantastic time with them exploring the beautiful wineries of the Yarra Valley. The pictures they took for us were wonderful, and we were delighted to be able to use them on our website and across our social media platforms."
David Miller, General Manager, Chillout Travel
"We have found that travel blogs like Across Land & Sea and it's associated social media profiles can give us excellent exposure in a very personal way that speaks directly to like-minded travellers... Our beautifully written and illustrated article on Across Land & Sea is just one more way to make that important connection between independent travellers and the kind of businesses they are seeking."
Neville McCrostie, Owner/Operator, The Little Penguin Bus
