Bali: our twelve night itinerary & costs snapshot
Before we landed, we had plenty of ideas and thought that we would end up staying in at least four different locations across Bali and the surrounding islands. Our flights from Perth were booked two weeks before take off, and most of our accommodation and activities were booked just a day or two in advance to give us the most flexibility.
When we arrived, we soon realised that Bali is best taken slow. We experienced Ubud and the surrounds, Gili Air and Seminyak over twelve nights, and we are glad we didn't try to fit any more in. Bali traffic is as bad as its reputation, so you're likely to need at least three weeks if you want to stay in more than four places, to make the travel times worth it and to give you a chance to relax.
