Bali & Gili Air

Bali & Gili Air

Towering volcanoes, tropical jungle and sweeping beaches convinced us to make a spontaneous trip to the Indonesian archipelago in September 2016.

Famous for world-class diving, cultural traditions and idyllic rice terraces, these islands are undeniably popular. South Bali in particular, however, is also famous for its chaotic nightlife, which seduces thousands of brash Europeans and Australians in search of booze, winter sun and magic mushrooms.

Fortunately, those who venture north or hop on a boat to Lombok or Nusa Lembongan will find thundering waterfalls, mesmerising lakes, artistic villages and lush rainforests, far away from the thumping clubs of Kuta.
